Gun manufacturer Glock advertises its guns as the epitome of perfection, and the Austrian-made guns have really caught the attention of fans. A common complaint about Glocks is that their trigger pulls are light, causing random recoil. Is there any basis for this rumor?
The Glock 17 pistol gained worldwide popularity in the early 1980s in the United States. The new rifle, which made extensive use of polymers for easy portability, incorporated several new or previously known features, including a shock-fired operating system. Although not new, the striker-fired system was opposed to the conventional hammer-fired system common to most guns on the American market.

While most handguns have heavy trigger pulls, it is clear that some are as heavy as the Glock and have been for decades. It's mostly due to a combination of factors like Glock's "light trigger pull," user error, and gun design.
In the normal situation where a trigger light can indicate a problem, the only reason the gun goes off is when the gun is pulled. New Glock owners may press the heavy-pistol motors harder than necessary, causing the gun to go off prematurely. However, this is not a design error, but a teaching error.
